PayPal Website Payments Pro for Australian Businesses

According to the PayPal support person I spoke to earlier this week PayPal is planning to make their Website Payments Pro service available to Australian businesses at the end of year.

PayPal Website Payments Pro is PayPal's version of a payment gateway allowing you to process credit card payments without making customers leave your site. This service has been available to businesses in the US and UK for a few years now and with a bit of luck Australian businesses will also be able to use the service.

PayPal now allows you to save your Buy Now buttons

Man this has been a long time coming. PayPal’s encrypted Buy Now buttons were always a pain in the ass because if you needed to change anything about the product (like the price), you needed to recreate the button from scratch. What made it even worse is that if you weren’t the person that set it up in the first place, you had to guess all the variables when you recreated it.

Setting up Paypal IPN with osCommerce for Australian Dollars (AUD)

This post is an old post from my previous blog but I thought it might be still useful to some people so I'll repost it here rather than deleting it.

I have just been setting up an osCommerce website to use Paypal's IPN as the payment method to accept credit card and paypal payments. I downloaded the official osCommerce Paypal IPN module from the contributions site, because the one that comes with 2.2MS2 is out of date.
